Jen Atkin Says These Will Be The "It" Hair Trends Of 2018, So Listen Up
Not even two months into the new year and Jen Atkin is calling it: 2018 is going to be amazing for your hair. While the genius behind every Kardashian cut just added volume spray to her cult-favorite line of cruelty-free products, mastering vivacious body sans stick residue isn't the only trend about to make hairstyle headlines.
If there's anyone who can speak to the 'dos and, well, don'ts of 2018, it's Atkin, which is why we had to pick her brain on what she expects will be hot, or not. Here's what her forecast tells us:
"Topknots with a full fringe! I've been loving using Eisenberg clip on bangs to give my clients this look without having to fully commit to chopping bangs."
Layers On Loose Layers
"Right now I love the look of soft, shaggy layers with a textured fringe. It’s a great way to transition out of a shorter cut or hide grown-out roots if you have them.
Tell your stylist you want a lot of movement and texture, especially towards the ends and in the fringe. It also helps to show your stylist screenshots of looks that you like, as long as they’re of someone with similar texture/length to yours."
"I’m loving bangs with a shaggy cut. Bangs are so versatile and frame the face so well!"
Natural Curls Re-Defined
"Enhancing & defining your natural curls! I think the diffuser’s back, I’m so obsessed.
The Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer with the Diffuser attachment is the best tool for getting girls in and out of the bathroom faster. You can get a really cool natural bend using a little bit of OUAI Wave Spray, Christophe Robin Volumizing Mist and diffuser."
Make Sure You're Accessorizing
"I think the biggest trend is going to be Hair Accessories! It’s such a simple way to upgrade your look or for taking your hair from day to night. They’re perfect for the glam girl that likes to dress things up or for the low maintenance gal that wants something fast to dress up her look. and short hair isn’t going ANYWHERE!"
